Hello world, my name is Atefeh from Iran and I live in Tabriz. I was born to a family in which everyone was blessed with artistic talents so my high painting abilities were old news. Maybe that's why I never took them seriously. I was very good at realistic painting. Realism was always my chosen school so you can imagine how hard it seemed for me to draw or paint from my mind. I had to see something and watch it closely in order to be able to paint it. So illustration and painting something out of the blue was a fantasy for me. Until I was blessed with my mentor, an incredible artist who was kind enough to guide me through my fears. She tought me that illustrating is also realistic painting. I simply needed to paint my own reality of things. For example if I wanted to illustrate a fox I had to watch and study foxes so I could extract my own reality of the animal. And suddenly something SO out of reach was there right in front of me.
