Ayinde Webb is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, Oakland School for the Arts, and is the recipient of the 2012 Monterey Jazz Jimmy Lyons Scholar award. Ayinde trained with master musicians of Oakland such as E. W. Wainwright's African Roots of Jazz, where he became the senior drummer for the ensemble. He was a founding member of the Oakland Public Conservatory of Music's Frederick Douglass Youth Ensemble. He also attended the Young Musician's Program and was a member of the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars. Through study, Ayinde learned the values of patience, perseverance, love, and community. These values have led him to places like Peru, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, China, and Europe. Nicknamed "Big Ears" by the legendary drummer Donald "Duck" Bailey, Ayinde promotes that all life vibrates and that conscious intention in music inspires and uplifts. Now based in New York, Ayinde is currently the drummer for the Off-Broadway adaptation of “black odyssey”.
