Hundreds of Thousands of Americans went West during the Gold Rush, hoping to find gold & prosperity in general, but the true profiteer of the era was Levi Strauss. Marketing jeans as necessity for gold miners, he quickly got rich off of their backs, despite most of these 300,000 miners never seeing any gold. A belief in the American dream, force-fed to us from birth, and capitalism’s enforcement of uniformity through material possession caused thousands to fund someone else’s “dream” in search of their own.…

    An egg on a plate. This was a lockscreen design for a client wanting something minimal and retro. The client requested light & airy with a comforting feel. I applied this to a style guide and drafted up a few item options before landing on the egg, a symbol of home cooked comfort. I think this design turned out so cute and the color palette works so well! With the edges of the plate lightly pixelated gives the design an almost gradient from the realistic egg, to the less-so plate, to the completely 2D-cartoon shaped and colors in the background. #graphicdesigner #designer #commission…
