Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_, on Saturday evenings Biography DJ 54LTY, (Salty) born in Croydon 1979, has grown up with music being a major influence in his life. Growing up in the 80’s, music such as Queen and Dire Straits were subjected upon him from an early age, however through his teenage years he found Nirvana and it wasn’t until whilst at the University, did he find Dance Music. Whilst working as glass collector to pay for Uni, Salty was privileged enough to experience the sounds of Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine and this set about a changing in tastes and laid the foundations for the future. After starting with what was to become one of the South West’s most revered clubs in the South West – The Candystore. Salty picked up a set of decks and some life, long friends with very similar tastes in Trance and Hardhouse. Although primarily a bedroom DJ having fun, in the early 2000’s he dabbled hosting an Open Decks night, and found himself on the line up for a number of gigs including Candystore events. In 2004, relocation and a ‘normal’ career left the vinyl in storage for what was to become an 8 year departure from the scene. One crazy August bank holiday in 2011 led to the formation of Phoenix Promotions MK. CDJ's and several events followed along with a new found love of 'new' music and styles. Having quickly adapted to Electo and the new breed of Trance, Salty started 2012 with a new venture in FirebirdMK and a weekly residency on MKFM – Milton Keynes own radio station. Several events later, including one Swedish House Mafia Pre-Party, and a residency at Down & Dirty, Gigs at Passion and Ministry of Sound, Salty find himself being invited to play at events around the country, and dabbling with production.
