Duane was raised in Compton, Ca. with the strong bond of family and work ethic. He started writing poetry at 17 for an English class and found putting feelings into rhyme a good time and had even more fun when he found he could make others laugh; so humor became a part of his writing style, usually encompassing family values and beliefs.
In 2007, poetry turned to song when his little girl asked him to write something for her upcoming wedding. .. The first lyrics Duane wrote for her marriage were to "Love's Pure Lesson" and through the internet, met up with a country singer who completed a guitar-vocal song that made the walk down the isle memorable for everyone at the wedding and this lit a fire for the poet now songwriter.
Duane recently retired after an exciting law enforcement career and feels blessed to have hung on to his heart after all he's seen and done. He is now having his song Demo's produced in Nashville and is looking for artists to co-write with.
