Yannis Stathopoulos was born in 1989, in Athens. Already in his early years, he displayed a talent for drawing, that only grew over the years and was nurtured through lessons and classes in drawing and art. In 2007-2008 he was accepted in the Fine Arts University of Thessaloniki, where he excelled in drawing but also in sculpture. A year later, he was accepted in Athens school of Fine Arts, where he attended from 2009-2015. He studied under Nikos Navridis for the first two years, while taking extra engraving classes under Schina Mary. Engraving and Printmaking won him over and he studied under Yannis Gourzis and Michalis Arfaras.
