Matt Windle is a post-graduate student having earned a First Class Honours in a Masters Degree in Animation at Sheffield Hallam University. He specailizes in storyboarding, character design and enjoys animating in both 2D and Stop Motion formats. Matt also works freelance on animation and graphic design oppurtunities made available to him - he is currently overseeing the pre-production on the short film Now What?. His 4th Year animated short film - Pen VS Sword - was also in the official selection for the Spirit of Independence Film Festival in Sheffield, 2022. Growing up in Sheffield, Matt has always wanted to pursue a career that engaged him creatively. He is eager to make his mark in the animation industry any way he can, but his goal overall is to work in either character design or storyboarding/cinematography. Matt's interest in cinematography came during his 1st Year at university when he understood the joy in telling a story not through a script but through a camera. Conveying mood and atmosphere through a visual medium was something he became very passionate about and felt it was the area in his studies that he would choose to put his focus into. Matt is one of the founding members of Film Society at the Sheffield Hallam Students Union. The society acts as a free cinema operated weekly by students on campus grounds. Founded in 2018, Matt was the society's treasurer and was made responsible for its graphic design.
