    Project Overview: Mark Copy AI, a burgeoning startup, launched its MVP in August 2021 and quickly garnered approximately 800 active users. In October, I joined the team as the sole product designer, working closely with the CEO and CTO. In the multifaceted role typical for early-stage startups, I handled UX research, UI design, Product Management, and even Marketing. Problem Statement: The objective was clear: scale the company rapidly. To achieve this, we tackled three main challenges: Attract More Users: Beyond marketing, product design plays a crucial role in user acquisition. Convert Users to Paying Customers: Once users are on board, the next step is conversion. Retain Customers: Addressing a high churn rate was essential to maintain a satisfied customer base. Understanding the User: The primary hurdle was identifying why users were dropping off. To understand this, we: Utilized Amplitude to pinpoint exact drop-off points in the customer journey. Employed Log rockets to track user interactions on the site, understanding clicks, scrolls, and movements. User Research: Conducted in-depth interviews with a group of six regular users to gain insights into their app usage, motivations for using the app, and desired improvements. Action Plan: Ideation & Design: Leveraged user feedback and analytics to iterate on the website and app design, testing and developing new features to enhance user experience and engagement. Portfolio Reflection: My tenure at Mark Copy AI was a testament to the impact of strategic design and user-centric research in driving growth for tech startups. By focusing on the user journey, identifying pain points, and iterating on the product design, I contributed to transforming the user experience, increasing conversions, and reducing churn. Problem Statement: Developed by Benoit Champliaud, MyProfilia boasts a robust algorithm. However, the product faces challenges in market acceptance. Benoit aims to sell the technology, and a refreshed brand image could bolster its appeal to potential buyers. Market Overview and Observations: Despite significant interest and curiosity, user engagement with MyProfilia often wanes after initial trials. This observation led to critical questions about market readiness and the suitability of the model. Research Insights: Two hypotheses were explored: Market Readiness: The French market, despite consumer demand, lacks maturity for such personalized tools. Companies primarily rely on demographic and sociological segmentation, with psychological segmentation not yet mainstream. Model Suitability: The market's immaturity necessitates high adoption costs, as critical mass is not achieved. Prospective customers struggle to understand the product's benefits, costs, and are hesitant to be early adopters. Strategic Conclusions: Given MyProfilia's financial constraints, a strong brand identity and heavy marketing investments are unfeasible. However, interest from SaaS companies specializing in Marketing/Sales Automation suggests a pivot to an API model. This would allow MyProfilia to integrate with other tools, promoting its psychological profiling benefits indirectly. Competition Analysis: A thorough analysis of the competitive landscape was conducted to inform the strategic pivot and redesign efforts. Design Evolution: The project showcases a comprehensive before-and-after comparison, highlighting the transformative impact of the redesign on MyProfilia's brand image and market positioning. Portfolio Reflection: MyProfilia stands as a testament to the power of strategic rebranding and market adaptation.
