Peter Coukis AKA Peters Auguste Murphy
Available to hire

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, January 15, 1955, Peter was educated in the local public school system. After high school, he became interested in songwriting and later, that interest evolved into recording sound pieces and other types of ambient music in his basement recording studio. In the 2000s, he became more aware of the power of combining visuals and art with his original music, through the creation of his own music videos and short films. …Peter’s goal is to continue to develop his art by expressing himself through Baroque styles (with hypnotically presented visuals… through film editing) and often obscure and original (usually dark) ways. Also incorporated into his short films and music videos are various themes of eroticism and occasional influences of the horror genre …His music ranges from experimental pop songs to long, deep synthesized dark wave soundscapes composed and recorded on the computer.
Self Taught composer and short film director. Studied music at Western Connecticut State University, from 1972 -1974. Founded the Indie / Artist Label, Blue Plum Records, in 1994. Released several eclectic underground CDs. Was a member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Has over 1,000 music videos on various websites on the Internet.
Studied piano with Lawrence Honan during the early 1970’s in Danbury, and mentored by American composer James Furman. Originally started as an aspiring pop singer/songwriter, but later abandoned that aspiration due to lack of entusiasm of listeners…developed into a full fledged serious composer with the beginning of the 2000s… During the early 2010s he began experimenting with recording his music on the computer and as a result has recorded a diverse body of new electronic, industrial and ambient track, many utilizing found (and modified)female vocals and synthesizers.
Working in the slide-show-video-found footage medium (using found clips on the internet in the manner of “outside artists”) for several years, Peter has through trial and error, honed his talents into a unique multimedia mix, involving visuals, sound and music…the resulting works are more than just music videos, but short films with music…Lately most of his work has been in the Erotic vein…making films about various fetishes…often incorporating surrealism and dream logic.
