My love of House music began as young boy of around 6 in 1989, two years after our family moved up from busy South East London to a hazy and quiet Lincolnshire. I would regularly press my fertile little ears up to my older brothers bedroom door to listen to the sounds coming out and was exposed to what I now know as early House and Acid House music, a vast collection that included artists such as 808 State, The Beloved, PM Dawn, Adamski, Paul Hardcastle, The Shamen, Leftfield, Inner City, Orbital, The Orb and Soul II Soul and good old Shannon to name a few. I remember two records of around the same time that I considered to be my favourites, which were 808 State's Pacific State and The Beloved's The Sun Rising. Both moved and excited me in equal measures, the trio of my 3 favourite records of all time being completed with Progen 91 by The Shamen, released a couple of years later. This music and culture was now imprinted into my own musical identity, and i started looking out for my own choices of these sort of records to play, basically I just wanted to spread the word that this was what I was into, it seemed important to me, so in my mind the way forward was to become a Dj, eventually. Over the years I collected more music; Tapes, CD’s and any Vinyl I could get my hands on, by the time I was 16 and left school, I was earning my own money and started saving up for my first set of Turntables It was at the age of 17 that I began to spend every waking moment mixing, blending and selecting, whilst coming up for air now and again to go to work to pay for my vinyl habit. Although I loved mixing other peoples stuff, I wanted more control over the vibe I was trying to put across, so naturally I realised producing my own sound was the way forward for me also. I managed to get a copy of ACID Pro through friend called Sharpie, who was part of local Techno Soundsystem called Jibblefish, and began to breakdown what it was that moved me as a lover of this music and how to arrange my ideas. From using Acid I gained arrangement skills, but wanted more sound design capabilities so moved on to modular software including Propellerheads Rebirth and Reason, which at the time blew my mind and enabled me to truly start becoming original in sound, but of course had limited MIDI implementation so I integrated Cubase into the setup, which opened up yet even more possibilities and capabilities still, making an in for hardware synths and drum machines. Deeply rooted in the original sounds that started me off on this journey my Djing style is a mixture of old and new Acid influenced House and Techno, keeping it deep but also sexy, and most of all energetic and imaginative. Gaining more confidence in the studio and seeking to share that first release into the community, my zeal and energy are getting ever stronger driven along my by unstoppable desire to make people dance and have fun. Thank You for being there and sharing with me this rhythm of life Peace
