If you’ve ever tried to find a needle in a haystack, you know what it was like growing up for Tyrell Clyburn.
The youngest of four siblings, Tyrell (nicknamed S.O.S) was born in a small town in South Carolina.
You can imagine the hassle that comes along with being the younger sibling and one might even
think that is a recipe for mischief. In Tyrell’s case he quickly found himself in a leadership role not only in church where his majestic voice took center stage but also at home.
Coming from a lower class family, Tyrell was constantly teased for not having high fashion clothes and shoes. Despite the humiliation from his peers he remained focused on the goal and the mission that was placed upon him. Brought up in a spiritual family he believes that music was a pure gift from God for him to express himself and share with the world.
Tyrell got his start with music when he was seven in a Baptist church, leading the youth choir for 8 years.
Tyrell has participated in school talent shows that led to early success as a young artist. With the passion and the desire to sing and rap Tyrell took his gifts to the streets and found out quickly that he had what the people wanted. Clear and poyniant lyrics combined with quick and snappy retoricals scored him the highest ranking artist title in the local area when it came to street battles. Now at the age of 20 Tyrell is humble and hungry to explore the dream he has anticipated since picking up a microphone. His stage name S.O.S is an abbreviation for Swaggas Ova Standard, a name which was given to him by his peers who noticed he was definitely unlike the average.
Now living in Boston Mass, S.O.S is already dominating the music scene. He is currently recording his mix tape titled “Mind over Mystery” which is set to release by summer 2012. He is also working on Artist Development at Bristol Entertainment and is getting prepped for his live concerts this summer. Stay tuned.
