    uniE621 RDNN Branding
The Rare Disease Nurse Network (RDNN) are a new organisation set up who have been set up to support nurses working across rare diseases. They had no branding, guidelines or materials to speak of when I took on the project so a lot of research and experimentation was needed. The branding I developed centred around the Northern Lights and the stereotype that they are rare. In reality, there are several different auroras globally so, much like rare diseases, when you group them together they are a lot more prevalent than you might believe. This formed the basis of the branding concept which was then rolled out across designs for business cards, event collateral, and the website amongst other things. Brand guidelines were also created to guide the team. #logo #graphicdesigner #branding #designer
    uniE621 Handyman Website and Branding
Paul initially needed branding for a new business he was setting up “Fixed 4 Time”. I designed business cards, leaflets and a website that could showcase everything he could do, but keep the user journey simple and understandable. The vast amount of areas Paul worked in was one of the hurdles I encountered when designing materials for him. In the end, by categorising and colour-coding the sections, I was able to create a clear user journey. By keeping the colours consistent across all materials, I could develop a clear visual language for everything. #graphicdesigner #branding #webdesigner #designer #logo
    uniE621 Aura Website
Aura was a local software design company that had a functional but slightly old website in much need of a makeover. They also had a lot of information about their services that they had yet to include. Rather than the generic blue or black software company website that has completely flooded the market, I decided to go with something fresh and clean with a subtle background texture. This allows them to stand out from the crowd and really show off their capabilities. #webdesigner #designer #graphicdesigner
    uniE621 Immunoncology Materials
Out of an advisory board, it became clear that immuno-oncology (IO) patients felt there needed to be a lot more education around IO so patients knew how to handle side effects before things got serious. The team came up with a bee and wasp analogy to communicate the difference between different cancer treatments currently available. With that as the main focal point of the materials, I developed a visual style and colour palette to compliment it which was then rolled out across different materials. #branding #graphicdesigner #designer #uidesigner #presentationdesigner #printdesigner #pamphletdesigner
    uniE621 Clinical Trials Application
Whilst working on several clinical trials, I asked why we were trying to get so much information into a booklet and why not do something more patient-friendly and easy to use. Strangely enough, the patients asked the same thing and so the patient diary app was developed. The app aimed to make it easier for patients to track the medication they were taking as well as side effects, how they slept, how they felt and then calculated how everything was linked together. So if the patient had drunk milk and later felt nauseous, the next time the patient said they felt sick the app will suggest they avoided dairy products. #webdesigner #designer #illustrator #uidesigners #uxdesigner
    uniE621 Beacon Website
The internet has a huge amount of information regarding ovarian cancer but not all of it is reliable and more importantly, not all of it is true. That’s where Beacon comes in. Beacon was designed to help patients navigate through all the information by only showing them resources that are correct and reliable. Each resource could also be rated by other patients further adding to the reliability of the information. One of the main features was also a “chat bot” style search feature that asked users what they were looking for in a chatty fashion without bombarding them with all this available information at once. #webdesigner #designer #graphicdesigner #logo #branding
uniE621 Macmillan Cancer Support Brand Refresh
I was brought into Macmillan to roll out the newly developed brand look throughout their website. I worked closely with their UX/UI team to update the design system to ensure it was in keeping with the brand's ethos but also brought the website into the future. The end result was a brand new system including new fonts, colours, an icon library and a fully developed library of design elements that the team could take forward to create new pages in the future. #designer #webdesigner #graphicdesigner #uidesigner #designsystem
