Alex Klein called Sawlty by his peers and in the musical circles, derives from the Southern town of Vieux Fort in the Caribbean isle of St. Lucia. He is a singer/rapper/songwriter and musician as he plays acoustic and electric guitar and likes “to show off on the drums and play a mean rock guitar” as he says. Sawlty started singing and writing original songs at a very early age, having an affinity to music from as long as he could remember. Being influenced by both his parents who always listened to many genres of music and also had very good voices. From the age of 13 his dream was to become a professional artiste. He sang at many school concerts and summer camp activities joined by his brother’s band SALT where they have performed at many events such as, ISCCF functions and Camps; ‘Praise Explosion’ 2013; National Prophetic Youth Convention 2012 & 2013; Youth Talent Vibes (YTV) where he placed 2nd in 2009 and 1st Place in 2010; Youth Fest placing 2nd in 2012 and 1st place in 2013 in the teens category. Although being a singer, he considers himself a rap artiste. SAWLTY’s style is Hip Hop fused with R&B and Rock.
