Mitchell Cortes is an unusual songwriter. Born in Fallbrook Ca. and raised in Lake Elsinore Ca. Mitchell grew up learning music on his own and buying his first instrument with money earned from pulling weeds. He eventually went from learning bass to learning guitar, piano, and singing. He then started recording music with a program called cakewalk. Over time he played his first show at the age of sixteen and then writing and playing with bands including Amber skylight, The Farewell Pact, Morning Story, Atlas, and On Broken Knees. Mitchell now has over five albums of songs, not including songs that were unreleased or written for someone else. He received an Award for “Gamble In The Dark" from ASA and has a track record of continually trying to advance. Mitchell's musical writing ranges from Alternative, Emo, and Pop to Indie, R&B, and Rock but doesn't limit himself to any genre. He has an unusual way of creative songwriting that doesn't follow most traditional mechanical and structural ways. He writes with emotion and from the heart, and never restricts the possibility of where the song can go or become.
