Born from the ballroom of Antwerp Mansion, The Family Wolves are a seven-piece good looking, nice smelling psychedelic folk band, also combining elements of garage rock and droney blues.
Led by vocalists Matthew Bierrum and Celine Belli, their intertwining harmonies rise and fall in serenading fashion upon a heath of dreamy and sometimes chaotic soundscapes. These are sculpted by electric slide guitarist, Dan Jones, keyboard player, Christian Fields and organ player, Bradlie Houldsworth, upheld by a steady and familiar groove from bassist Kris Extance.
The group’s lengthy and poetic lyrics hand-in-hand with their raw and energetic live performances capture an organic and nostalgic sound that whispers of the late West Coast sixties. The Family Wolves are an independent collection of artists who carefully craft their songs full of suppressed emotions and hidden meanings.
"The Family Wolves represent the next thrilling instalment of our city's nu-folk revolution." - David Sue, Manchester Evening News
"Sounding, at turns, like Jimmy Page and the Magnetic Zeroes having a brawl in a brothel owned by Fleetwood Mac." - Jarrod Sio, M.O.I.S.T
"They are a synchronous unit, starting as one and pausing in unison, understanding the emphasis of a strategic collected breath before rising to song finales." - Ian Pennington, Now Then Manchester
