For world-class electronic dance music composer/producer Tom D. Paul, music is the only way of life. He’s simply one-of-a-kind.
First signed and supported by one of the most prominent names in the Dutch Electronic Dance Music scene, Ron van den Beuken (Spinnin’ Records, BIP Records, Entraxx and more), the California-born artist has taken the world by storm with his worldwide release of “SoulScape” (Feat. Kira DeLara) on van den Beuken’s own Netherlands-based label. With beautiful melodies and unique, exotic beats - the record is just the first in a long list of original tracks and remixes on deck for the young composer as he brings his own vibrant interpretation of house music to the globe.
But this former ‘ghost’ producer’s path to a worldwide breakthrough didn’t just start during the recent “EDM” explosion.
The foundation was built not long after learning how to walk. At the ripe age of five in a musical household, his immense passion for melodies began with the violin – followed up with the discovery of the grand piano at age seven.
Fast-forward to his very early teen years, and Tom’s love for constructing music swelled as he spent countless hours with keyboards, microphones, mixing sounds and layering dance music tracks with a recorder at the end of the 1990’s. While other kids had their own hobbies, he was busy learning how to create raw music and how to play popular songs by ear from his living room.
And with extraordinarily diverse musical influences throughout his childhood in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area – from Italian music, opera, salsa, hip hop, pop, disco to early dance tunes and everything in between – and DJ siblings who had been spinning on vinyl records for decades, it was no surprise that rocking a set of decks came as second nature for Tom (born Thomas Paul Hernandez). But first and foremost, his passion for Dance Music was the most glaring, influenced by some of the earliest electronic artists and tracks to hit the American music scene at the turn of the century – long before it was popular or mainstream
Southern California Discovery
Discovered by a local university’s radio station’s Executive Producer during his time in college, his obvious talent as a composer resulted in assistant work with Audio Engineers and DJs. Flash-forward and Tom D. Paul found himself as a local radio DJ Personality in Southern California - the center of the Entertainment Industry.
Eventually finding his way to working as a co-producer with famous global artists as a part of the powerhouse Oakley brand, he finally embarked on his own campaign for musical destiny as an Electronic Dance Music Producer-DJ on his own – launching with a headlining show at Heat Ultra Lounge in Orange County, CA. Followed up with massive performances at the world-famous Yost Theater and additional prominent venues, he’s now directing his focus at creating works of art in the studio for the world to enjoy.
One thing is certain: Tom D. Paul is set to light the scene on fire with a unique style of progressive house music, combining influences from all across the Globe to create truly tantalizing sounds for listeners across genre lines.
