I have more than 25 years experience in composing. I was a late beginner in music, with my first classical guitar lessons at the age of 15, a year after I had begun playing the electric guitar. A year later I was advised to begin piano lessons as I was already composing. By the age of 18 I obtained a Grade 8 in classical guitar from the Royal Schools of Music with Merit, I had passed 4 piano exams by the Hellenic Conservatory all with 10/10 grades and Grade 5 in Music Theory with Distinction. After completing my military service in the Artillery, during which I managed in the little free time I had to study harmony and to record a 30-minute album where I played all instruments (except the drums) I went on to study music in the UK. I studied piano with Jillian Skerry (Royal Academy of Music, Vienna State Academy of Music) and contemporary composition with Richard Hoadley, at the Anglia Ruskin University as well as counterpoint with Andrew Black (University of Cambridge, Royal Academy). After obtaining a BA (Hons) I continued my studies in Electroacoustic Composition with Mathew Adkins and Michael Clarke at the University of Huddersfield where I obtained a Master of Arts. Upon my return to Cyprus I was registered with the Centre of Cyprus Composers. My pieces have been performed in England, Wales, Cyprus, Greece and other countries. I compose for solo instruments, ensembles and orchestra as well as electroacoustic and mixed music pieces, on some occasions with live electronics. Later my interests were diversified to business, politics and law and I currently study for an LLB at the University of London. I also publish articles in local newspapers and have given speeches in human rights demonstrations.
