I’m a composer who specializes in creating original compositions and arrangements. I can provide work in score form or as fully realized recordings. I perform and record on saxophones, flutes, electronics, miscellaneous percussion, etc.
My approach to collaboration devolves almost entirely on exploiting my considerable listening skills to develop supporting lines and harmonies to suit the mood and message of the specific piece of music I’m contributing to.
I have many years’ of study and intimate familiarity with important North American musical genres: jazz, blues, rock, tin pan alley, show tunes, songbook, etc. I’ve also engaged deep studies of other genres including European 18th Century styles and Mexican Banda, as well as a number of styles that might be considered fundamentally “xenharmonic,” such as Javanese Gamelan, Ottoman Turkish sacred and classical forms, the work of Harry Partch, and more.
