My name is François Vigneault. I am a freelance illustrator, cartoonist, and designer (not necessarily in that order) working in Montréal, Québec. I create fun, engaging, and highly original artwork in a range of styles, from vibrant and cartoony to sleek and vintage-inspired. From custom comic strips to one-of-a-kind typography, I always deliver a top-of-the-line product for my clients. But even more importantly, when you hire me you'll be getting truly creative, thoughtful, and original work... There's nothing cookie-cutter about my illustrations, comics, and designs. Some of my previous and ongoing clients have included Uber, Area 1 Security, Nature Conservancy Canada, The Portland Mercury, Kayak Magazine, THIS Magazine, Barista Magazine, French Your Way, Kids Songs Rule!, Scout Books, Study Group Comics, and many more. My graphic novel Titan and 13th Avenue have been nominated for multiple prestigious awards including the Joe Schuster Award for "Best Cartoonist" 2018.

I started as a photographer, and in one of my job I discovered the world of graphism and illustration. I used to draw the esthetics of bicycles. It was something I enjoyed a lot. Choose the color that would reach out to the buyers was very challenging. Now I enjoyed the three worlds and looking for a new challenge!

I am an illustrator based in Montréal, I love colors, textures and nature. I have worked for the City of Montréal, for catering companies, environmental projects development, and NGO's like Amnesty International, Women in cities among others.

Tamara works both traditionally and digitally to create her painterly storytelling illustrations. Her work has a strong sense of lighting, naturalistic colors and dynamic compositions. She is strongly inspired by wildlife, children and the environments they reside in. She uses this inspiration to add a layer of realism to her work. Tamara’s illustration journey began at Dawson College where she earned her associates degree in Illustration and Design. Shortly after, she furthered her studies at Sheridan College, where she attained her Bachelor degree of Illustration. In between and during her studies she has worked for a diverse range of publishing and editorial clients such as Mascot Books, Kayak Children’s magazine and Inhabit Media.

About illustrators

An illustrator is a visual artist who creates drawings and illustrations for use in advertisements, books, magazines, packaging, greetings cards, clothing design and newspapers. The possibilities for your business are endless - illustrations are the perfect finishing touch to your graphic design, while illustrated infographics are proven to be far more engaging than plain text. Plus, illustration has the benefit that the only thing limiting you is your imagination - if you want a dragon you can have a dragon.

The types of work illustrators are hired for is extremely varied. Illustrators are hired for projects ranging from editorial, fashion, storyboard, technical and book illustration. Although illustrators are flexible in the kinds of projects they take on, they usually specialise in a particular style. These include traditional styles like pencils, pens, watercolour and pastels, as well as digital art made using software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Often, a project might require both, with sketches first drawn up by hand and colouring then completed digitally.

On Twine, you'll find talented professional illustrators with a wide variety of experience in a range of industries and mediums. So whether you want a sketch for your next fashion collection or a cover for your new novel, you can find illustrators to make it happen on Twine.
