My name is Nathalie Ando (she/her) and I also go by my spiritual name Rukmini, which means golden and radiant in Tamil. I am of Japanese descent and live in Brazil where I was born and raised. I lived in the USA from 2007–2021. For the last 7 years, I was in Yogaville, VA, where I served as program development director, graphic designer, online programs administrator, and yoga teacher. While there, I joined the Leadership Team, Fundraising Committee, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) Committee, and the Integral Yoga Anti-Racism Task Force. While enrolled in graphic design at PVCC–Piedmont Virginia Community College, I maintained the highest academic standing in all graphic design courses. I excelled in many projects, including designing the 2018 cover and 2019 layout for The Fall Line magazine. Upon graduation, I was nominated for the Laney Hardwick Award at the annual PVCC Academic and Leadership Awards Convocation. I very much enjoy working with graphic design, especially illustrations, logos, books, posters, and yoga-related projects.
