Prima were originally formed in September 2014, however with this final set-up they have been together since February 2016. Pippa Austin, Ellen Tiso and Ben Percival are founding members, whilst Nadia Plummer joined in September 2015, and Cressida Mckay Frith in February 2016. From all over the country Prima came to the RNCM to continue studying their instruments. Chamber music is a big and wonderful part to life at RNCM and Prima have come together to create more music. They have performed in a master-class for the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet, won The Art of Chamber Competition in November 2016 and recently performed at the 50th anniversary gala concert for the Manchester International Society. Whilst predominantly performing music from the Classical era, Prima enjoy performing jazz, film music and contemporary.
