Location: Leeds, United Kingdom

Contract: Full-time

In order to support our production over a busy summer schedule, we are looking for competent drama 2nd and 3rd ADs to join our AD Department on short-term contracts.   For the right candidates, this may lead to longer contracts with training opportunities.

The roles

3rd AD:

Your responsibilities as a competent 3rd, will be to support our 1st AD either in the studio or out on location, as they work their way through a demanding production schedule set against tight deadlines.

2nd AD :

You will have progressed to the 2nd AD position on Drama.  You will have the skill-base to support the 1st AD with organising and planning the day’s shoot and you will work successfully with the 3rd AD as a point of information and communicator to ensure the smooth running of the production unit. The ideal applicant should be on a career path where they see themselves 1sting in the not too distant future.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • You will have a minimum 6 months experience as a 2nd / 3rd AD.
  • Strong organisational and administration skills - including technology as we are a paperless production.
  • This role involves driving to our regular locations in a manual vehicle which is 8 miles away from the studio base, therefore a full manual drivers licence is essential. We cannot guarantee automatic vehicles, therefore we require a full, manual drivers licence.
  • This role will involve lifting and carrying large/heavy equipment, you must have knowledge and experience of how to lift and carry safely.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • You will also be a diplomat able to maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality about production information.
  • You will have the ability to work under pressure, work long and unsociable hours in both a studio and location environment (often during inclement weather conditions) and be prepared to change your working pattern at short notice.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be in contact with cast and crew either verbally or in writing ( emails).
  • Ability to work as a team and individually , when required to solve problems quickly under pressure.
  • Passion for Continuing Drama and for TV.
  • Attention to detail
  • Adherence to both studio and shoot etiquette and discipline.
  • Positive and proactive can-do attitude to all tasks.
