Job Description/Summary

Alaska’s News Source is looking for a part-time TEMP Photographer/Editor. This position is responsible for shooting and editing video and sound for broadcast on KTUU/KYES newscasts and for publication across the station’s digital and social media platforms. Excellent shooting, editing skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, geared towards a high-paced news environment and solid ethical judgement.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for shooting and editing video and sound for broadcast and digital platforms
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned gear, operating microwave van and broadband/bonded cellular live devices (Dejero, TVU or similar)
  • Posting content on station’s digital platforms, editing digital video, as well as operating other mobile live devices
  • Driving a company vehicle and any other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 2+ years experience as a videographer and video editor
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and a variety of shifts including but not limited to mornings, afternoons, late nights, holidays, weekends and possible overtime hours
  • Meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Must have the desire to be at work during big breaking news, weather coverage, and special events
  • Must be able to stand, sit, lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and capable of working in all outdoor elements, as assigned
