Job Summary

AUSA News is looking for the right candidate to edit video for news programs, live coverage, breaking news, and other productions and promotions. The Freelance Video Editor will have 1 to 3 years of experience in video editing, broadcast production, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Use video editing skills to help assemble video segments for broadcast using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere.
• Work closely with producers, directors, and other staff to ensure that all content meets the highest standards of quality and is delivered on time.
• Assist with the setup and operation of audio, video, lighting, and other equipment for live and recorded television broadcasts.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, and collaborate with producers, directors, and other staff to determine the technical requirements for each broadcast.
• Stay up to date with new technology and best practices in the field to help us continue to produce high-quality television broadcasts.

Qualifications

• 5 years of digital post-production experience; editing in Adobe Premiere Pro
• 2 years working in a high-pressure environment meeting tight deadlines
• Strong understanding of digital workflows and file-based delivery
• Strong understanding of frame rates, aspect ratios, and resolutions
• Ability to read video scopes and audio levels
• Demonstrated strong editorial judgment
• Proven experience editing content for a variety of digital platforms, in non-traditional formats and resolutions
• A team player who can work flexible hours including evenings, early mornings, and weekends
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects is a significant plus

Pay Statement

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at the time of hire for this position in the posted location is $37,500.00-$61,607.00/year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire and does not reflect future job opportunities.
