Blizzard Entertainment’s Creative Marketing Services is seeking an experienced Social Content Creator to join their team. The role involves ideating with the digital marketing team and developing industry-leading social content for various channels, focusing on Hearthstone. The ideal candidate is a passionate Hearthstone player, familiar with the World of Warcraft universe, and adept at creating daily social content for platforms like TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, and more. The role requires designing static images, creating memes, capturing in-game content, editing videos, and developing interactive content. The candidate should possess a versatile technical skillset, proficiency in game engines, and a creative mindset to push boundaries. A deep understanding of social media trends, platform functionality, and basic knowledge of creative performance metrics is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary for presentations and storytelling as a key member of the social creative team.

Responsibilities:

• Create video, static, and interactive assets for major releases and content updates
• Adapt assets to various specifications for different social channels
• Stay updated on digital technology, social media trends, and best practices
• Select effective social media marketing components and devise visual strategies
• Collaborate with Creative Services and consumer marketing teams to support game titles and daily social content
• Provide assets to regional teams
• Understand project goals, ask the right questions, track down answers, and incorporate feedback
• Manipulate image composition and perform basic paint overs when required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in creating social content from concept to delivery
• Knowledge and passion for CCG games, especially Hearthstone
• Familiarity with the World of Warcraft universe, story, and characters
• Strong creativity with the ability to generate innovative concepts and designs
• Excellent eye for composition, contrast, and color
• Comprehensive understanding of design principles, typography, and visual storytelling
• Experience creating content for various social platforms, including TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, and emerging channels
• Familiarity with best practices, technical requirements, and specifications for social media content
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Master Suite apps (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
• Basic familiarity with game design engines (e.g., Unity) and capturing/repurposing in-game assets
• Ability to develop meaningful content through participation in weekly sprints and presentations to stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong collaboration skills within an iterative design process
• Passion for video games, movies, graphic novels, science fiction, and pop culture

Pluses:

• Experience working on a PC
• Basic familiarity with game design engines and repurposing game assets for marketing design
• Knowledge of 3D animation/modeling software (Maya, 3Dmax, zBrush, etc.)
• Experience as a digital artist/illustrator and relevant software
• Experience in the game industry
• Experience with photography, cinematography, and/or machinima
• Experience in a mobile publishing organization
