The positions are available for approximately two (2) to three (3) months during the main part of the General Assembly session between September and December 2023.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Editorial Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
• Proofreads and reviews meetings summaries and press releases for clarity, spelling, grammar, consistency and factual accuracy in accordance with UN editorial guidelines and terminology.
• Ensures that text is formatted to UN Press style and standards.
• Rotates in shifts, as needed.
• Stays available for overtime and on-call assignments, depending on the needs of the office.
• Performs other related work as required.

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in public information, including the production of meeting summaries and press releases, as well as draft typing, copy editing, proofreading and typographical layout or related area is required.
- Experience in draft typing, copy-editing, proofreading or related area is desirable.
- Experience using Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint) is desirable.
- Experience in web publication and content management systems is desirable.
