About the Team

HipHopDX has been a leading digital publication in Hip Hop culture for over 23 years. With over 4 million readers and 5 million followers per month, our editorials, reviews, premier audio and video sections, and original content draw a loyal following online. As part of Warner Music Group, HipHopDX is expanding internationally.

Responsibilities

• Write 6 daily news stories based on social media and various sources
• Work on West Coast hours
• Research and fact check articles
• Reach out to original sources for quotes
• Maintain a feed of news sources to pitch to editors
• Attend feedback and planning meetings

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of news writing experience
• Up-to-date computer with reliable internet connection
• Availability on weekends
• B.A. or B.S.
• Strong passion for Hip Hop and music culture
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic HTML and photo editing skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Live in Pacific or Mountain time zone
• Willing to relocate to West Coast
• Understanding of social media platforms and spreadsheets

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $20.00-$25.00 hourly. Salary ranges for all NY, California job postings, and 100% remote roles are included in our postings. Actual base pay depends on work experience and business needs and is subject to change at any time due to internal and external factors.
