Contract: Part Time, Full Time, 12 Month Fixed Term

Position Information

This position is a 12 MONTH CONTRACT position and is classified as remote with occasional visits to campus as needed. As a junior-level developer, this position works closely with senior developers to gain knowledge and experience to analyze, design, build and document specifications for applications using the Grails and Oracle database and cloud based NestJS platform/s. Additionally, this position will collaborate with fellow developers and business analysts to support discovery and requirement gatherings in an agile development environment. This role also provides technical guidance and applies information technology practices, community standards, and relevant policies and procedures to medium-sized projects or portions of large projects with moderate scope and complexity. On a regular basis, this position will work with campus stakeholders to resolve a wide range of issues and demonstrate competency in selecting tools, methods, and techniques to obtain results.

Experience

  • 2 - 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience with Cloud (Preferred)
  • Experience in NestJS (Preferred)

Special Conditions

  • Must pass a background check. (Required)
  • Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development. (Required)
  • Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours (Required)

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of secure software development.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
  • Knowledge of other IT related areas.
  • Experience with common programming tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
  • Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Demonstrated software repository skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
