POSITION OVERVIEW

Small Planet Institute is seeking a Web Developer to update and maintain the Small Planet Institute’s website. The position is on a freelance basis, with website updates done at the request of Frances and the Managing Director. In-person work or remote work are both options. Small Planet Institute’s Cambridge office is located in the heart of Harvard Square, one block from Harvard T (Red Line).

TIME COMMITMENT

Hours are flexible and will be scheduled as website updates and maintenance are needed.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• General website maintenance
• Update website with new and current information
• Ensure website functioning across devices
• Design website graphics, as needed
• Research and fact-check website information, as needed
• Review and report on website analytics, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong web development, management, and design skills
• Proficiency in using web development software, such as Wix, and design software, such as Adobe Photoshop or Canva
• Preferred experience working with website analytics
• Excellent research and written communication skills, including editing and fact-checking
• Passion for democratic social movements and the mission of the Small Planet Institute
• Collaborative work ethic and a positive attitude
• Ability to excel with minimal direction and supervision, and also able to follow directions when given

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• $25 per hour
• Freelance position; flexible hours
