Wander + Whimsy Floral and Event Styling is a small business in Lanham, MD. We are professional, creative, bold and our goal is to create artful, organic, personalized floral and event designs for our wedding and corporate event clients.

Position: Studio Assistant (Part-time)

This is a part-time, hourly position with hours mostly Sunday-Wednesday (15-25hr weekly). This position’s main focus is to keep our busy studio running smoothly by assisting in the studio and being a support to our designers and production crew members. The Studio Assistant will assist with everything from loading and unloading trucks to processing flowers to painting inventory for installations to washing buckets. If assisting with the creation of a wedding day and seeing the behind the scenes process of an event come to life sound like your dream job then this is the position for you!

Responsibilities:

• Complete daily studio production tasks including but not limited to processing flowers and inventory, keeping the studio and coolers clean, loading and unloading trucks, pulling inventory and supplies, washing buckets, prepping vessels for designers.
• Manage and fulfill retail orders including but not limited to taking orders over the phone, assisting walk-in customers, completing order tickets, prepping and packing orders, assisting with delivery.
• Support freelance designers, floral designers, and production staff such as contractors on a daily task list to ensure production stays on schedule.
• Prep the showroom for mock-up appointments.

Requirements:

• Positive attitude and willingness to roll up their sleeves to ensure the job gets done
• Highly organized and detail orientated
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for prolonged periods
• Valid Driver’s license and able/willing to drive a cargo van around DC/MD/VA
• High School Diploma

Pay: $15.00 per hour
