The Role:

Applications are welcomed for the role of Technical Developer to join the Levy team.

As a Technical Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining products or contents within a specific area of expertise. This expertise will be applied to the Levy product within CITB’s portfolio. The role holder will use their expertise to support the development of new and existing products, to ensure they meet the requirements of CITB’s strategic objectives and the needs of the industry.

They will assist the Levy Manager in the end-to-end delivery of CITB products or services, for which they will be a product expert. The role holder will work with colleagues across a number of teams, including external stakeholders, to maintain customer driven products and services to meet the requirements of CITB’s strategic objectives and the needs of industry.

Key Activities:

  • Translate technical material in product content
  • Develop concepts to enhance the existing products or develop new products
  • Design Levy systems, rules and requirements
  • Proactively gather customer and colleague feedback and update the CITB Levy pages on the website to provide customers with up-to-date accurate Levy information and advice to enable customers to self-serve
  • Provide technical input for communications campaigns for Levy and for the production and maintenance of support materials for customer facing teams and service provider
  • Provide technical support on high level queries and escalated Levy issues
  • Commission and review content from third parties
  • Manage development projects and work packages as agreed by the Levy Manager
  • Produce accurate and timely reports for management
  • Attend CITB working parties, committees, and relevant external meetings
  • Develop and maintain effective communications and working relationships with the team, CITB, and other associated groups and bodies
  • Design and deliver Levy training to customer facing colleagues and service providers to update on scheme rules and process changes
  • Act as a focal point for their specialism within CITB
  • Keep abreast of all developments in legislation, technology, and practice in the subject matter
  • Support the development of the Levy product from Strategy and the ongoing development of existing products to determine suitability
  • Work in tandem with the Strategic Levy team and Levy Manager to ensure strategic handovers are timely, systems have been tested ready for implementation, and work instructions are written & circulated prior to go live
  • Make decisions based on your knowledge of the subject area supporting new and existing product development

  • Experience of using your relevant subject matter expertise in previous role(s) and employment experience
  • Highly developed written and verbal skills
  • Confident presenter
  • Experience of translating technical material into product content
  • Clear, confident, and persuasive communicator
  • Strong customer focus
  • Experience in managing customer relationships and other stakeholder relationships
  • Self-motivated and able to plan and organise own workload
  • Ability to clearly convey issues and solutions to colleagues and customers
  • Able to work effectively within a team
