Contract: Temporary, Full-time

Job Summary:

  • The graphic designer provides the overall artistic direction for promotional marketing within the CPAC; responsible for day-to-day graphic operations and for the execution and coordination of the most complex projects and assignments. Creates and coordinates a comprehensive, consistent design for all visual marketing and develops material for the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, including mainstage events, cabaret shows, educational outreach activities and events, fundraising events, and all departmental print and online needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, or guide the creation of, all visual marketing and development print, web, email needs. Art direct all visual marketing and development print, web, email needs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Director and Executive Director to define annual design parameters for CPAC advertising and development needs. Works with Communications and Content Specialist on text content and revisions.
  • Manage work with printers, videographers, banner companies, and other vendors to ensure efficient and cost-effective production of marketing and development materials.
  • Advise Marketing Director of new trends and ideas in graphic design that could improve CPAC graphic identity.

  • Must be imaginative and eager to try new ideas.
  • Must be able to accept critique of work and modify work to satisfy the needs of the marketing plan and vision.
  • Must be able to shift from one project to another easily.
  • Must be eager to work on a team, and able to work alone.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university’s commitment to a “vision of excellence.”

Education and Experience:

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and two years’ experience working with performing arts or other arts-related companies required.
  • Expert proficiency with Macintosh graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Word.
