Gfinity Digital Media (GDM) holds a network of specialised websites averaging 14 million monthly unique active users whilst delivering 70 million impressions per month across its social media channels. Essentially, we are the hub of all things gaming, esports and entertainment.

RealSport101.com is a leading website that focuses on sports video games and is looking to hire a passionate and knowledgeable News Editor to lead its daily news coverage in the world of sports gaming as well as broader topics.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in sports gaming, especially the live service game modes of EA & 2K titles, as well as knowledge of broader gaming titles like League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, and Genshin Impact. You should have the ability to source and uncover news within the gaming world and rapidly turn that into written content.

The role is a freelance contract for full-time hours where you will be working alongside the Sports Group Manager and wider editorial team to grow traffic and brand awareness. You will be expected to create content yourself, delegate to an in-house team, and commission work to external authors.

Hours: 11am - 7pm UK Monday to Friday, some flexibility permitted.

Role overview:

  • Work with the senior editorial team to establish a news content strategy
  • Work with internal and external writers to ensure news is covered in a timely manner
  • Generate original stories within the sports gaming and broader gaming space
  • Prioritise and organise content
  • Write in an authoritative and clear tone
  • Stay plugged in to the community sentiment and reaction to games

  • Highly knowledgeable in the world of live service and sports gaming
  • Knowledgeable of SEO
  • Able to prioritise tasks and delegate where needed
  • Excellent in your written and verbal communication
  • Able to work fast and efficiently - reacting quickly to changes and breaking developments.

Pay Range: £22k - £25k DOE
