About the Role

We are seeking a Music Director for the upcoming Middle School production of ‘Newsies’. The role is part-time, primarily Monday through Friday from 3:30-5:30 PM, starting 11/13/23 through performances ending on 2/3/24. Please note the following production calendar:

• Auditions: 11/13/23 - 11/15/23
• Rehearsals: 11/27/23 - 1/26/24
• Saturday rehearsal: 1/20/24
• Tech Weekend: 1/27/24 & 1/28/24
• Performances: 1/29/24 - 2/3/24 (Saturday at 7pm)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all music related elements of the production including:
• Casting
• Conducting music rehearsals
• Organizing and directing the orchestra
• Running orchestra rehearsals
• Conducting the performances

Qualifications

• Experience in working with Middle-School aged students.
• Extensive knowledge of musical theater canon.
• Experience working in musical theater.
