Contract: Part Time

Overview:

The Videographer is a part-time position, and this person will be responsible for filming and editing events in the Alabama area. The Videographer will transport equipment to pre-determined locations, set up video and audio equipment, capture recordings, tear down equipment, and then edit recordings for distribution on television.

Responsibilities:

  • Transporting production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production.
  • Operates and maintains proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment.
  • Performing all other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Filming video on set and on location.
  • Working with creative teams and clients to plan video shoots.
  • Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props, and other equipment.
  • Editing footage after recording.
  • Adding computer graphics, closed captioning, and special effects to footage.
  • Preparing background film, also called B Roll.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for transportation to and from events to capture video and audio.
  • Ability to quickly learn and execute video and audio capture operations, as well as video editing software required.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
  • Must be able to work XX weekends per month.
  • Multitasking skills for working with many crew members at once.
  • A creative mind with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients and members of the production team.
  • Knowledge of post-production techniques.
  • Understanding of computer software used for planning, editing, and scripting.
