Overview of Job:

Are you ready to join the UK’s biggest Hip Hop & RnB brand? We’re looking to expand our freelance producer pool at Capital XTRA. This job involves producing some of the biggest DJs and best specialist shows in the world of Hip Hop & RnB in UK Radio. The shows and dayparts you’ll be working on will be varied but predominately weekend evenings.

• You will be producing some of the most popular specialist shows on Capital XTRA.
• Your tasks and shows will be varied, and you’ll play a key role in crafting Capital XTRA’s specialist output.
• You’ll be plugged in to the wider Capital XTRA brand team and exposed to many exciting opportunities to grow and develop.

Measures of success: In the first few months, you would have:

• Developed a critical ear for the programmes you work on and be actively looking of ways to improve them.
• Built great relationships and trust with your presenters and the wider Capital XTRA programming team.
• Contributed and helped driven exciting creative planning sessions.
• Contributed and implemented exciting multi-platform creative ideas and show features.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Handling the live studio environment of some of Capital XTRA’s specialist shows.
• Mentor, guide and give feedback to presenting team during and after live show.
• Develop and implement show features, interviews, and topical subjects for your show.
• Responsible for planning, crafting, and delivering world class on-air content. Producing and recording exciting guest interviews for playout on air along with briefing in social assets.
• Liaising regularly with Programming Teams across the brand.

What you will need:

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

• Music passion and knowledge in all genres of Capital XTRA’s output including Hip Hop, RnB, Reggae, Grime and Afrobeat.
• Responsible for planning, creating, and delivering on-air content to the highest standard.
• Be confident with using workflows and following production processes necessary to complete tasks.
• Confident when working towards your own personal objectives as well as helping others in achieving business goals, setting, and stretching new standards.
• Good communication skills and exercise the best ways to communicate across the board from management level to presenters, teammates, record label and artist teams.
• Attention to detail to ensure consistent high-quality work is being produced.
• Experience with using Zetta and G Selector is an advantage but not essential.
