About The Job

iCrossing is looking for a dynamic and talented hybrid Senior Product Designer/Art Director to join our multidisciplinary team, on a temporary basis and drive the design vision for our products and brand. The candidate will establish design systems that empower designers, developers and help transform our client’s digital experiences. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual identity of our products and brand. This position is a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking, requiring a seasoned individual who can seamlessly integrate their expertise in product design with their mastery of art direction to craft exceptional digital experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Create and execute a direction for a scalable and flexible enterprise Design System that can adapt to the needs and capabilities of different hardware archetypes.
• Lead and contribute to the end-to-end product design process, from conceptualization to implementation. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX, engineers, and other designers, to ensure cohesive and user-centric design solutions.
• Take charge of the overall visual direction and design language for our products and brand, ensuring consistency and cohesiveness across various touchpoints, such as websites, mobile apps, marketing materials, and campaigns.
• Create intuitive and engaging user experiences by designing prototypes and user interfaces that align with our brand strategy and user needs.
• Develop captivating visual concepts and design assets that convey the brand’s identity, including icons, illustrations, graphics, and multimedia content.
• Collaborate with the Creative Director to further develop and refine the brand’s visual identity, ensuring it remains relevant and consistent across different platforms.
• Take ownership of the look and function of existing Libraries in Figma. Audit and expand Style Guides, Component Libraries, Patterns Libraries, design tokens, and ensure WCAG compliance and scalability.
• Figma library management, documentation of Design and Development guidelines for Desktop and Mobile responsive design.
• Establish adoption and governance rules related to Design Systems.
• Stay up to date with the latest design trends, technologies, and industry best practices and integrate them into our design processes.
• Become an expert and advocate for branding guidelines, digital design systems, and how we apply them.
• Help build out presentations to convey project plans to clients and management.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.

Who You Are

• You are a systems thinker who loves visual design, you love using Figma and know how to turn great visual designs into scalable component libraries and design systems.
• Experience designing with the Atomic Design methodology and translating designs into digital Design Systems.
• Clear and effective communication about your design ideas and solutions when presenting to teams and clients.
• You have 5+ years of demonstrated experience in both product design and art direction, preferably in a fast-paced digital product environment.
• You are a strong presenter and able to effectively communicate creative ideas and their rationale.
• A portfolio showcasing a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, visual design aesthetics, and creativity in problem-solving.
• You are a great collaborator and expert who can inspire others with the latest trends and current design strategy and technology.
• An expert in design software like Figma, inVision, etc… Should also be familiar with the Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc…) and the ability to work in MSOffice tools like PowerPoint when necessary.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize design solutions for the best possible outcome.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently.
• Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
• You have an avid interest in the latest technology, tools, and trends.
• An eye for high-quality, well-crafted visual and interaction design, and care about the details.
• Provide design leadership and guidance to teams around using shared patterns and identifying opportunities to create new patterns and components within their work streams.
• Help ensure that our design system is accessible and inclusive. Make sure that the system is usable by people with disabilities and that it reflects our company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
