Location: San Diego, CA

Contract: Full Time, Freelance

What you bring:

  • Designing apps is your forte, and you possess extensive experience with designing complex ones.
  • You have a knack for clearly communicating design decisions and are willing to discuss design specifications with the development team in a respectful manner.
  • You love to cooperate, see yourself as a leader and don’t mind getting stuck into the projects.

UX/UI Designer will work with the design team to:

  • Create wireframes, designs and prototypes for mobile, web, and desktop, to include spaces of all shapes and sizes.
  • Map out user flows and information architecture.
  • Launch your ideas, which means working from kickoff through development and getting sign-off along the way (e.g. final wires and flows, specs, use cases, etc).
  • Prototype your ideas – whether high or low fidelity using Figma, Adobe Suite, or AdobeXd.
  • Work closely with Project Manager and the Development team to craft and iterate on project needs and goals.
  • Define problems and opportunities.

Requirements:

Experience: You should have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a UX designer, but ideally, you would have around 4-5 years of experience.

Desired skills and abilities:

  • You have an epic and varied design portfolio and are happy to discuss the design process when required.
  • You have experience managing or leading a project.
  • You can conduct user interviews and heuristic reviews.
  • Ability to use and participate shaping a design system.
  • An excellent understanding of typography.
  • Proficient using various design tools (ex: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or AdobeXD).
  • Ability to communicate and work as part of a team, as well as independent.
  • Self-starter with excellent time-management skills and the ability to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Deductive reasoning, listening, flexibility, and critical thinking skills and the ability to predict problems before they occur.
  • Ability to easily adapt and learn new things, whether it’s a new prototyping tool, design process, or business process.
  • Some knowledge of CSS/SCSS or Javascript.
  • Knowledge of agile software development.

Technical Requirements:

  • You are a US Citizenship.
  • You have an active TS Clearance.
  • A COVID-19 vaccination may be required for your work (Being a Federal Government contractor may find it necessary).
