Part of News Corp, The Sun is a global publisher and one of the biggest news brands in the UK. Our talented and diverse team publishes the best coverage of showbiz, lifestyle, news, reality TV, tech, money, and sport. In early 2020 we launched a US edition and have grown the business to a 140+ company, hitting all traffic and revenue targets.

We are currently looking for a freelance live… blogging reporter to join the team. The position will be based in News Corp’s Midtown Manhattan office however remote candidates will be considered. Although the blogs team works across all departments, some knowledge of major US sports is required. Shifts will be available on days, nights, during the week, and across the weekend. Live blogs are an important part of the business and we require reporters to run multiple blogs at a time. The position is freelance with the possibility of becoming a full-time staffer.

Pay Rate: $200 - $250 per day

Key Accountabilities:

• You will work to maintain multiple traffic-driving live blogs across news and entertainment.
• Each blog will require an update at least every 30 minutes.
• Each entry will need a fun, tabloid-style headline.
• Self-publishing accurate and legally safe content.
• Creating and maintaining breaking news blogs covering some of the biggest stories in the US.

Skills and Experience:

• Be proactive and willing to take on any task.
• Be willing to work flexible hours.
• Be able to produce copy at speed.
• Have a good knowledge of social and SEO.
• Good time management skills to multi-task and schedule several blogs.
• You must be eligible to work in the United States.
