Job Description:

We’re looking for a dynamic Head of Production at Electrify to lead our digital content teams. If you’re passionate about video and have a track record of building high-performing production units for digital and social platforms, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll oversee A/V production, from team building and budget management to contract negotiations and post-production workflows. Ensuring deadlines are met, managing production assets, and implementing key policies are all part of your mandate.

Your mission is to elevate our production processes while maintaining efficiency across the Electrify content portfolio.

You’ll report directly to the Senior Vice President - Content and Creators.

Tasks:
  • Production and Project Management:
  • Develop and implement the overall video production strategy aligned with the company’s goals and branding.
  • Refining, implementing and overseeing all aspects of the production process, across all Electrify channels and projects from pre-production planning to post-production editing and distribution.
  • Manage production schedules, budgets, and resources efficiently to ensure timely delivery of high-quality videos.
  • Managing and evolving the post production workflows including Media Asset Management involving remote teams.
  • Oversee selection of and management of third party production partners, third party licenses and production needs including software and kit.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of producers, production managers, videographers, editors, production assistants, and other production staff. You will have five direct reports initially and help build the plan to grow and shape the department significantly over the coming months.
  • Lead and champion the sourcing of in-house, freelance and remote working production talent, ranging from editors and script writers to graphic designers and other key production requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging innovation and growth within the team.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Be responsible for the compliance and management of all production business affairs and legal compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and techniques in video production, editing, and post-production.
  • Collaboration:
  • Beyond day-to-day editorial content, you will work with the broader Electrify team to deliver other video and production initiatives as and when required.
  • You will facilitate successful delivery of commercial and sponsorship projects and contribute to the achievement of revenue targets; tracking and managing the cost of sale so that all productions delivered adhere to business objectives.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as agencies or freelancers, when necessary.
  • Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage budgets for individual video projects and the overall production department in collaboration with specific channel leads.
  • Overseeing and managing production budgets for each Electrify brand, supporting cross-functional partners on budgets for new initiatives, laddering up to a group level reporting.
  • Monitor expenditures and seek cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Working alongside the Finance team, regular financial and budget status reporting.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years Video Production experience, predominantly in the digital, YouTube and Social space.
  • Success in this role relies on an expert understanding of the digital video media industry and an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the production process, including post production. Production experience across YouTube content is beneficial.
  • Experience of production team leadership across digital content teams, with a management style that inspires, nurtures and develops talent. Experience managing vendors and brand/sponsorship clients would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience delivering a large number of assets at regular cadence for digital content brands across social platforms, with deep understanding of how to scale efficiently.
  • Developing and managing budgets and overseeing spends.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to take initiative and manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects with a number of deliverables are essential.
  • Experience of working with/implementing post-production workflows and cloud based media asset management between teams across multiple locations.
  • Internally we use a number of tools to manage our production workflows including Monday.com, Iconik Media, Slack and Adobe. Experience using some or all of these systems is beneficial.
  • A clear and concise communication style balanced with the tact and diplomacy required to nurture talent, build relationships and drive results.
  • Excellent English written and spoken skills are essential. This is a job for a resourceful individual who can develop trusted colleague and supplier relationships and drive successful collaboration between groups.
