Summary:

Do you have experience with the full spectrum of social media channels and possess a mastery of content creation? Do you have an enthusiasm for visual and performing arts within a diverse community? If so, then we are looking for you! Come join the Marketing Department at Scottsdale Arts as the a Social Media Specialist for our Annual Scottsdale Arts Canal Convergence.

Important Details to Know:

  • Compensation: $23.00 / hour
  • Shift/Hours: Flexible hours, 40 hours/week October 2, 2023 – November 15, 2023. Must be able to work evenings and weekends from November 1-15, 2023.
  • Job Type: Temporary, Non-Exempt
  • Benefits: Not eligible
  • Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Here is what you will get to do:

  • Develop social media messaging and posts in collaboration with our marketing team.
  • Maintain social media channels, including monitoring post schedule strategies.
  • Collaborate within the Marketing and Communications Department to create custom graphics, video, and copy content required to create content for social media and email marketing.
  • Schedule daily posts for Canal Convergence on social media platforms using Sprout Social and other tools.
  • Monitor, track, and report results on weekly and monthly engagement and conversions via social media.
  • Research and monitor competitive social network channels to develop campaign ideas.
  • Attends all 10 days of Canal Convergence and coordinate with staff in attendance in order to document or capture content for use on social media and video.
  • Ensure content is fresh, engaging, and supports the organization’s marketing and event goals.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school graduate
  • Experience: 1–3 years experience in marketing, working with social media and video. Experience coordinating with a marketing department a plus.

  • Displays and utilizes best practices in public relations.
  • Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, sound judgment, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, YouTube, and others.
  • Some knowledge of visual and performing arts; familiarity with local and national arts media outlets.

Work Environment: Position requires regular standing, walking, and ambulating up and down stairs. May need to lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and color vision. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. This position requires flexible scheduling at times including evening and weekend hours.

Other requirements:

  • Must possess valid driver’s license and driving record that is acceptable to the organization’s insurance carrier.
