About City Kid NY’s Pod Classes
Our pod classes are a series of 45 minute private, group classes for children and families! Each class is interactive and promotes learning and language development through music, play, reading, movement, and sensory exploration! Activities that instructors lead during our classes include a read aloud, sensory play, gross motor activities, playing music/singing and encouraging music-making with kids, art making, and more!
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking to hire instructors to lead our early childhood podclasses (as described above)! The children will be ages 6 months - 2 years old and they will have an adult with them. The curriculum is written and ready to go! We are looking for creative teachers who can follow the plans with attention to detail, as well as add their own personal flair! We have classes running throughout the mornings and afternoons everyday and can offer flexible scheduling to our instructors based around their school/work schedules!
Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow scripted lesson plans provided by City Kid NY.
- Bring fun and excitement to each class through song, dance, and enthusiasm!
- Read a book during each class and bring the story to life through movement and dance!
- Sing songs with children and bring a theatrical flair to the class.
- Manage the supplies needed to run the classes and come to each class with the supplies needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- A background in music, theatre, and/or education.
- Experience working with children ages 6 months-4 years old (or older).
- A passion for working with young children and engaging them in fun and interactive activities.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to lead classes for children and their adult caregivers.
- An ability to sing basic songs and engage theatrically with young children.
- Musical background a plus! Being able to play basic songs on a guitar or ukulele would be great!
Schedule
We have classes running at different times in the mornings and afternoons on weekdays. Candidates do not need to be available for all class times (you can make your own schedule!)
Education
High School Graduate (Required). It is a plus if you are pursuing a degree in either music, theatre, or education or have already graduated college with such a degree.

Compensation
Pay ranges depending on your background and experience. $32-$70/hour (includes prep time and clean-up time for each 45 minute class)
