Responsibilities:
- Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff
- Plans design work by discipline for all project sizes and assigns duties to staff working on projects
- Reviews correspondence prepared by junior staff
- Actively participates in quality control of projects
- Ensure the utilization of sound engineering/design procedures and monitor that of the team
- Help to ensure the team is working efficiently to produce a quality product by providing training and instruction in day-to-day activities of less experienced designers and CAD operators
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Technical mastery in all aspects of land development civil engineering, including: roadways and streets, grading, SWM/BMP, erosion and sediment control, storm sewers, sanitation, and water design
- Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- A minimum of 8 years of qualifying experience
