System One has a temp-to-hire opportunity for a Sr. Civil 3D Designer to support FAA/USPS projects. The Senior Civil Designer reports to the Lead Civil Project Designer of the Civil Engineering Department in our client’s Government Services Business Unit. The candidates being considered will be proficient Civil 3D users on civil design projects: civil site development / infrastructure / grading / utilities design.

Important Details

• Temp-to-hire opportunity (after a minimum of 520 hours)
• Pay Rate Range: $48 – 53/hr (Salary will be commensurate with experience.)
• Hybrid opportunity (3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
• Must be local to client’s office to attend in-office interview and take a 1 hour Civil 3D CAD test on interview day for evaluation
• 9/80 work schedule and overtime is expected (Every other Friday off)

Senior Civil 3D Designer Responsibilities:

• Requires strong PC and CAD skills as well as efficiency in utilizing computer software to complete design assignments.
• Apply more advanced CAD techniques and develop difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge, that they meet company and industry standards and codes.
• Develop alternate design layouts of system as required.
• Ensure compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
• Review supplier data, shop drawings and catalog cuts as required.
• Performs checking procedures and assists in training lower-level designers.

Senior Civil 3D Designer Requirements:

• Associates or equivalent technical degrees or certificates of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related work experience on civil site development, infrastructure, grading, and utilities design.
• Proficient Civil 3D user on civil design projects.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD industry standards and practices are required.
• Familiar with surveying principles, low impact development and sustainability in civil design.
