Overview & Responsibilities:
Stamford, CT based in studio Production Manager working closely with Network Coordinating Producer and Director, Production Operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages day-to- day operation of studio shows that are part of a 24/7 streaming network
- Participates in and contributes to crew planning, crew lists, and staffing for in-studio and remote events as well as feature shoots.
- Coordinates and arranges travel for technical, production, vendors and support personnel within budget guidelines. Responsible for timely reporting and reconciliation of those costs.
- Weekly meeting preparation and planning. The Production Manager is responsible for generating and distributing production memos and call sheets. Must review, edit and check all schedules and technical details before show documents are distributed.
- The PM authorizes, reconciles, tracks, and facilitates the payment of invoices and payroll for vendors, crew and other purchases/services while updating and maintaining monthly estimates to completion and budget tracking.
- Oversees and prepares for both in studio shoots and on-site remote needs and logistics including travel, catering, location rentals, space allocation, access, credentials, security, crew parking, technical parking, and shipping.
- Work closely with Sports Operations and Remote Technical Operations and Technical Managers on show planning, vendors and equipment selection
- Distributes crew lists and paperwork for freelancers and remote operations staff. Approves freelancers’ expense reports, invoices, and hours.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experienced in Operations planning.
- An understanding of television production and equipment.
- Must be a team-player with excellent team-building skills and a willingness to pitch in to get things done!
- Experience with budget preparation, tracking, posting, reporting, invoice approvals, coding, and reconciliation are required.
- Familiarity with crewing, technical skill categories, skill levels and market rates is important, as this person will contribute to crewing and database management.
- Adaptable and capable of contributing new ideas to the team.
- The ability to be flexible with “off-hours” communication and the understanding of how to handle problems in a 24/7 network environment.
- Computer and strong communications skills are necessary.
- Experience making travel arrangements for large groups and individuals.
- Experience with studio production and remote event planning
- Experience with contract negotiation and preparation.
- Willingness to assist and support new staff and freelance employees.
