Job Description

Exsel is searching for a part or full time WordPress Web Designer & Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate would have an eye for design, excellent communication skills, at least 5 years of WordPress design & development experience, would be an enthusiastic team member and live within a 90-mile radius of Central Massachusetts. As an integral member of the Exsel team, this candidate will work with a diverse array of clients, bringing their websites from concept to completion. Skills required for success include user interface design and web development, project management, organization, and articulate communication.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Design modern, dynamic web layout mockups, bring client websites from initial concept, site architecture, and user interface to finished deliverables
• Code and implement WordPress sites from static mockup through HTML/CSS to theme, functions and plugins
• Design and implement new features, enhancements, and content on existing websites
• Maintain existing sites through WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates
• Support, extend and/or enhance existing code
• Interface with clients and our team on a daily basis
• Facilitate client WordPress training, site documentation, and maintenance

Qualifications

• Strong eye for design and attention to detail
• Expert-level experience managing and updating multiple websites on WordPress platform
• Experience with e-commerce, preferably WooCommerce for WordPress
• Knowledge of current web development languages (including HTML5, CSS3, PHP/MySQL)
• Understanding of on-page SEO fundamentals
• Experience working responsively
• Experience with parent/child themes and caching systems
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to explain complex technologies clearly to others
• Great communication skills to work with clients and our team
• Ability to solve problems and work independently
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to strict timelines

Job Type

Both full and part-time opportunities available with with a competitive pay and benefits package.

Compensation

Full-time: $65,000–$75,000 depending on experience level

Part-time: $30 - $35/hr depending on experience level
