Job Description

• Yorkshire based Balbir Singh Dance Company is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to take a supporting role with a variety of projects, observe, shadow, learn on the job and lead, based on level of experience and skillset.
• 3 days per week
• £100 per day
• 2 month period of engagement
• Office based in the centre of Leeds

Duties

• Collaborate with the team to create visually appealing graphics and layouts
• Assist in the development of design concepts and ideas
• Create and edit digital designs
• Design graphics for various platforms, including websites, social media, and print materials
• Assist in the creation of video content and editing using video editing software
• Conduct research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design
• Support the team in photography tasks as needed
• Support the presentation design ideas and concepts to clients or team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Strong sketching skills to develop initial design concepts
• Experience with WordPress or other content management systems is a plus
• Basic knowledge of video editing software for creating and editing video content
• Familiarity with photography principles and techniques is a bonus
• Excellent communication skills to effectively present design ideas and concepts
