About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Services team at Bristol City Council. With a newly reimagined service, we are dedicated to building digital services that prioritise the needs of our citizens, businesses and communities.
The Senior Content and UX Designer will join our User-Centred Design team to create innovative, easy to use digital experiences aligning with the needs and preferences of our users, while meeting business objectives.
Responsibilities include
- Lead content design projects
- Research and identify users’ needs and evidence decisions, using a variety of sources such as analytics and user research, and UX methods such as user journeys and stories.
- Create, iterate and manage engaging, usable, accessible user-centred content and services for our website and intranet, following a content design approach and our style and standards.
- Create wireframes and prototypes.
- Work with stakeholders, building relationships and communicating clearly.
- Champion user-centred content design and be an advocate for our users and our approach to content design and be passionate about providing the best user experience.
Skills required
- Experience of working in content design, UX, web editing or another relevant role or a relevant degree or qualification.
- Experience of writing for the web and creating accessible and usable content, sometimes from complex language and processes.
- Be familiar with the Government Digital Service (GDS) approach and accessibility standards.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Be a problem solver.
- Have an enquiring mind and be happy to push back and challenge the current situation.
