About us:
BCAUSEICAN has a mission to provide programs and services to underserved communities. The leading program is the BCAUSEICANCODE curriculum, which provides the instruction of coding concepts, terminology and skills to begin the art of coding for grades K-12. We currently focus on schools in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia (the DMV as it is known to locals). With the impacts of COVID-19, the need for online teaching has grown tremendously. and the need to teach students how to use computers is more important than ever.
BCAUSEICAN Social Media Coordinator
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marketing Manager in creating and distributing content
- Assist with researching current marketing trends and platforms
- Assist with content planning and editing
- Collaborate with Program managers to gather content from classes (testimonials, student shout outs, etc)
- Assist with fundraising (quarterly)
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Passion for our mission
- Excellent communication and management skills
- Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to use video conferencing software (I.e. Zoom)
- Professional level computer skills (i.e. familiar with applications such as g-suite, adobe, word, canva, etc.)
- Detail-oriented
- Able to work as a team member and collaborator
Experience and Education:
- 1-2 years of experience with social media platforms (instagram, facebook, twitter, youtube etc)
- Experience with G-Suite (google drive, gmail, spreadsheets, google survey etc)
- Experience with Digital Media/Editing (preferred)
- Experience with content management and creation
Requirements:
- Must have own computer device/technology
- Must be able to commit 20-25 hours per month (3 hour minimum each week)
Pay:
$25 per hour
