About the Role

This organisation is looking for a Digital Marketing Assistant to join their small, growing digital marketing team. This is a newly created role to support the organisation’s goal to expand its digital marketing capability as part of its organisational strategy. The Digital Marketing Assistant will work with the Digital Marketing Manager and be responsible for a range of digital marketing tasks to increase their reach, engage target audiences and support wider organisational objectives such as fundraising or advocacy. This is an entry level but varied role that includes:

  • Digital content creation
  • Copywriting
  • Paid social media
  • Google Ads
  • SEO
  • Tracking performance and analysing data

Digital marketing is ever evolving and therefore the Digital Marketing Assistant needs to be ready to learn and carry on learning to keep up with changing trends, tools, and strategies.

About You

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Assistant who is an excellent communicator and is comfortable with IT and digital platforms. You will be passionate about developing new skills and knowledge in digital marketing. It is desirable that you can draw out insights from a table of data and have a passion for international development and addressing the climate crisis.

You will also have the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

  • Experience in writing engaging copy for target audiences.
  • Experience using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Creative design skills; experience and keen interest in making digital content such as videos, images, banners, etc.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and the internet.
  • Experience working with a CMS.
  • Alignment with the organisation’s vision, mission, and values.
  • A passion for, and commitment to, international development and to issues affecting rural communities in the drylands of Africa. Interest in digital marketing and communication.
